Tantric Support

Sentient beings have many different capacities for spiritual comprehending and practice. For this reason, out of his empathy, Buddha Shakyamuni gave theories at many levels, just as a skillful doctor administers a number of remedies to treat unique variations of sick people.

Different Levels of Theories

For those who wish merely to achieve human happiness Buddha presented teachings revealing actions along with their effects, or karma; and he taught ethical discipline as their key practice. For those who want to experience the permanent inside peace of liberation, or nirvana, for themselves alone, Buddha gave teachings within the faults of samsara; and he taught your three higher trainings - tactics pertaining to higher moral discipline, training in higher concentration, and training in higher wisdom - as his or her main practice. For those who need to attain the ultimate purpose of full enlightenment Buddha gave teachings around the development of great consideration and bodhichitta; and he taught your six perfections - the particular perfections of giving, moral discipline, patience, effort, mental stabilization, and wisdom - seeing that their main practice.

Common and Uncommon Routes

All these teachings are open to anyone who wishes to examine and practise them. The experiences that usually are gained from practising all of them are called the `common religious paths’. Besides these teachings, Buddha also gave theories on Tantra. These may be practised only by anyone who has received Tantric empowerments. The experiences gained by means of practising these teachings are called the `uncommon faith based paths’.
